The "China Nuclear Technology Application Industry Yearbook 2023 Volume," organized by the China Isotope and Radiation Association(CIRA), was officially unveiled at the 2nd International Forum on the Development of the Nuclear Technology Application Industry.
During the dedicated release session at the 2nd International Forum on the Development of the Nuclear Technology Application Industry, Chai, Zhifang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, elaborated on the main contents of the "China Nuclear Technology Application Industry Yearbook 2023 Volume."
The nuclear technology application industry is a critical sector in the development of the nuclear industry. As a comprehensive strategic industry, it is widely applied in various fields such as industry, medicine, agriculture, environmental protection, public safety, oilfield logging, aerospace, and healthcare. It plays an irreplaceable role in improving people's quality of life and promoting socio-economic development.
"China Nuclear Technology Application Industry Yearbook 2022 Volume", which is the first comprehensive and informative reference annual publication for the industry, was officially published under the organization of the CIRA in 2022. This annual publication provided an objective, authentic, and accurate reflection of the development of China's nuclear technology application industry, which played a significant role in driving the industry's development.
The "China Nuclear Technology Application Industry Yearbook 2023 Volume" officially released recently, and the structure of the previous yearbook was continued. Adhering to the principles of being academic, authoritative, innovative, and cutting-edge, it provides a scientific understanding of the global trends in the development of the nuclear technology application industry, insightful observations on changes in the world industrial landscape, and comprehensive and systematic records of the development status of China's nuclear technology application industry in 2022. It offers accurate and authoritative industrial data and resources.
The publication of the "Yearbook" is of great significance to the standardized, digitalized, and innovative development of China's nuclear technology application industry. It provides valuable references and support for government decision-making, industry planning and management, efficient enterprise development, and market trend forecasts. This further promotes the high-quality development of China's nuclear technology application industry.
The "Yearbook 2023 Volume" focuses on the performance and achievements of the industry in 2022 and includes five main chapters: "Special Section," "Data Set," "Achievements and Progress," "Milestones," and "Appendix." It aims to provide a genuine reflection of the major annual achievements in China's nuclear technology application industry, analyzing the industry's development from different perspectives.
The main contents of the "Yearbook" are as follows:
"Special Section": This section compiles the laws and regulations related to nuclear technology application published by relevant departments such as the National Nuclear Safety Administration, the National Medical Products Administration, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China in 2022. It also includes more than ten industry research reports and recommendations, offering a multi-dimensional analysis of the latest developments in China's nuclear technology application industry.
"Data Set": This section includes seven categories of industry data, covering basic data on gamma irradiation devices, cobalt-60 radiation sources, accelerator irradiation devices, electron beam treatment of wastewater (printing and dyeing wastewater, pharmaceutical wastewater), industrial non-destructive testing electron accelerator devices, safety inspection electron accelerator devices, and nuclear safety supervision data sets for 2022. The data shows that by the end of 2022, there were 104,603 units engaged in the production, sales, and use of radioactive isotopes and radiation devices nationwide. There were 114 gamma irradiation devices nationwide, including 98 with a design source strength of 300,000 curies or more, and a total of 1,031 electron accelerator devices for radiation processing were installed and operational.
"Achievements and Progress": This part includes the achievements and progress made in eight application fields in 2022, covering industry and scientific research, isotopes and radiopharmaceuticals, radiation processing, nuclear medicine research, nuclear medicine equipment, agriculture, public safety, and environmental protection. With the strong support and policy guidance of the Chinese government, breakthroughs have been frequently achieved in China's nuclear technology application field. It has emerged as a strategically emerging industry supported by the state, playing an indispensable role in the current socio-economic development.
"Milestones": This section compiles the ten major news events in the nuclear technology application industry, the top ten news events in the nuclear field and nuclear and radiation safety, and major events of member units of the association for the year 2022. It reviews the significant achievements in the high-quality development of the nuclear technology application industry over the past year.
"Appendix": The appendix section includes a list of nearly ten conferences and forums related to the nuclear technology application industry, conference reports, and demonstration projects for 2022. It also contains the group standards approved and released by the association in 2022, highlights of the association's work for the year, and introductions to some member units.
It is worth mentioning that the "Yearbook 2023 Volume" is the result of collaboration among numerous industry enterprises and research institutions, involving more than nine months of preparation, article solicitation, editing, proofreading, and other work processes.
