The High-Quality Development Conference of the Nuclear Technology Application Industry, themed "Nuclear Power Creating a Better Future," was held in Hengyang, Hunan on September 7th. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Wang, Delin, Deputy Chief Economist of CNNC.

Mr. Liu Jing emphasized that China has entered a new stage in the construction of a strong nuclear industry, with a focus on further enhancing the application of nuclear technology, expanding the industry's scale, and achieving significant breakthroughs in the peaceful use of nuclear science and technology. This has become a crucial part of building a strong nuclear industry and promoting high-quality economic development. He stressed that to further drive the high-quality development of China's nuclear technology application industry, firstly, it is essential for us to grasp the current situation, strengthen strategic leadership and industry coordination, and promote the high-quality development of the nuclear technology industry. We should also enhance scientific and technological research and development, address key challenges, and improve the core competitiveness of the nuclear technology industry. Furthermore, we should optimize resource allocation, accelerate the transformation of results, and enhance the development scale of the nuclear technology industry. The National Nuclear Safety Administration will continue to support the development of the nuclear technology application industry, promoting its growth, and making it stronger and more competitive.

Mr. Zhang, Yingchun stated that Hunan Province is focused on national strategies and is providing key support for Hengyang, leveraging its fundamental advantages as the cradle of China's nuclear industry. It aims to expand its presence in various fields such as nuclear technology, nuclear medicine, and nuclear environmental protection, collaborating with CNNC, relevant universities, and teams of academicians to establish a complete pathway from research and development to industrialization. The provincial government intends to create a new path for the high-quality development of the nuclear technology industry in Hunan, to take advantage of the favorable conditions provided by national ministries and numerous parties that have shown interest in the region, and to make significant contributions to the flourishing development of nuclear science.

Mr. Gu, Jun stated that CNNC, as the main force of China's nuclear science and technology industry, regards the nuclear technology application industry as a significant area for seeking sustainable high-quality development. It is also an important support for the future economic take-off of local areas. CNNC highly values its strategic cooperation with Hunan Province and will continue to collaborate with Hunan Province and Hengyang City in creating a hub for the development of the nuclear technology application industry. Together, they will forge new strengths and advantages for high-quality development, charting a promising course towards the "three highs and four news."

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Deng, Jianjun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech. The "Leading Figures" list and the joint initiative for the open sharing of laboratories (research equipment and facilities) were announced as well. Various theme activities such as "Building Nests to Attract Phoenixes," "Face-to-Face with Industry Supervisors," "Showcasing Our Technological Achievements," and "Enterprises Embracing Talents" were also conducted. Leaders from various fields of the nuclear technology application industry gathered together to discuss hot topics related to high-quality development of nuclear technology applications in different sectors. The conference, guided by the China National Nuclear Safety Administration and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, was jointly organized by the China Isotope and Radiation Association in collaboration with the Chinese Nuclear Society, China Nuclear Industry Education Association, China Radiation Protection Association, and the Nuclear Technology Application Committee of the China Nuclear Energy Association. It was co-hosted by China National Nuclear Corporation and the Hengyang Municipal Government, with the support and participation of various experts and leaders from Hunan Province and Hengyang City, as well as nuclear-related enterprises such as CNNC, China Huadian, China National Energy Investment Group, and China General Nuclear Power Group.
